Cleaning Sex Toys
Cleaning sex toys after each and every use is more critical than you may realize. Any of us that own sex toys should know how important it is to give them proper care to ensure their longevity and to stay safe from infections. Here are a few ideas that I have found to be beneficial that might aid those of you who are first time users. Most sex toys are very easy to clean and should be done soon after each and every use, don’t wait until the next day. Simply wet a clean cloth in warm soapy water and gently wipe the toy. If your particular toy has a battery you don’t want to get the control area or battery compartment wet. A word of caution, if you plan to use your sex toy anally you must clean it very thoroughly using antibacterial soap or rubbing alcohol as soon as possible after each use. There are special cleaners formulated for sex toys that work well also. Just keep in mind if your toy is made of Cyberskin or a similar material it should be dusted with a dash of it’s special powder or talc before storing as that helps keep it supple. After you have cleaned your sex toy, thoroughly dry it with a soft clean cloth. Wrap your prized possession in a clean dry cloth and store in a cool dry place. Never store you sex toys without being individually wrapped, the different materials have diverse reactions with each other and can harm the toy. There are special boxes and bags to keep your prized possessions in. Sex toys of today are made from several different materials that can be easily cleaned. Those made from plastic, latex, silicone and jelly can simply be cleaned with a mild soap and warm water. Rubbing alcohol or a commercial sex toy cleaner may be used. Those made of glass are cleaned the same way but can be put in boiling water for a short time. With the ones made from the Cyberskin type material it is wise to take a little extra time in their cleaning to prolong their life like feel. Of course some of our sex toys come with batteries and are easy to replace by simply unscrewing the base of the toys battery compartment or by removing the panel on the remote control. Most of them require the common AA or AAA size but some need the watch size. Batteries contain a very corrosive material and should be removed from the sex toys if it is to be stored for a week or more.
